The
recent deaths of veterans awaiting care at VA hospitals is appalling; as a
nation we should hang our heads in shame. These tragic deaths serve as a
warning of how little effort our government takes when counting the cost of
sending service members into battle or on post guarding our homeland freedoms.
Possibly the Veteran’s Hospital in Phoenix was under staffed, doctors were over
loaded, and nurses were over worked; there may be many reasons why patients
went unseen for their ailments. None of those reasons should be a scapegoat for
a lack of fore thought from our appointed civilian government.
What
is the cost of sending U.S. Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and National
Guard into harm’s way?
What
does our nation set aside for each service member for their care if they return
severely wounded or disabled?
What
does our nation set aside for the sacrificing families of these wounded, disabled,
and dead service members?
If
our nation’s pride is so great, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA) is
so good, then why do we need the following charitable organizations?

Have
you ever received a call soliciting for your generous gift to help provide
needed medical aid or some other form of assistance for veterans? Why didn’t
someone count the cost?
We
pay taxes for government bureaucracies which have wasted billions, even
trillions of dollars in ways we can’t even imagine. America’s citizens need to
stop pillaging the social system coffers of tax dollars and allow it to be used
for the care of those who have for far too long provided them the freedom to do
so.
